It has been announced by Companies House that virtually all of their services are to be online by March 2013. Indeed their vision is to become a fully electronic registry.
Much of the Companies House forms have been available to file using the WebFiling service for quite a while now. You should have been given an authentication code, or can easily request one from Companies House.
Electronic submissions for all Limited and other company formations as well as the filing of annual returns and accounts will become mandatory. They have stated that smaller entities will, certainly initially, be exempted.
Companies House indicate the benefits of these transactions to its customers, such as:

- Ease of use
- Decrease in processing errors due to quick rejections
- Guaranteed delivery
- Faster processing
